dh-make-perl - Create debian packages from perl modules
dh-make-perl will create the files required to build a debian source package out of a perl package. This works for most simple packages and is also useful for getting started with packaging perl modules. Given a perl package name, it can also automatically download it from CPAN.

As a Perl programmer and Debian fan, I get a lot of use out of this package. There may be a lot of Debianized perl module packages (nearly 700 by my count), but that just scratches the surface of what's available on CPAN (over 6,000). Then there are the modules that I make for my own work that I want built as Debian packages. dh-make-perl makes it so easy to make a perl module into a Debian package, I consider it pollution to manually install perl modules (unless they go in ~/.perllib). If you're familiar with perl module installation and want to learn more about how Debian packages work, this is a great tool to explore.
