unclutter - hides the cursor in X after a period of inactivity
unclutter hides your X mouse cursor when you don't need it, to prevent it from getting in the way. You have only to move the mouse to restore the mouse cursor.

Andre L. has this to say on the subject of unclutter:
It is important to be able to see the mouse pointer while moving the mouse. But when typing it only gets in the way, and I don't want to see it. Unclutter is a program that makes the mouse cursor disappear when it is not being used. As soon as you move the mouse the cursor will reappear. This sounds weird, but I predict once you've tried it you'll never go back to the old way. I start it from my .xsession file.

More information on this package can be found on the Debian web site.
